First Friday Art-tober Fest Planned in Downtown Warsaw

The theme for this weekend’s First Friday is Art-tober Fest.

The event is from 5 to 9 p.m.

George Berger & the Freudemacher Band will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be performances by Midwest Extreme and a skit by The Beaman Home.

There will be a food court with food provided by Rex’s Rendezvous. Brown Bag Deli will provide chicken and noodles and beef and noodles. Lawney’s Barbecue will be on hand, and kettlecorn will be available.

Giverny’s Party In Pink Zumbathon will be at 8 p.m.

Art projects for kids will be sponsored by Presbyterian Preschool, Marsh and the Warsaw Community High School art department.

The WCHS art classes will show how to make clay pots with their pottery wheel. There also will be sidewalk chalk demonstrations by Lakeview and Edgewood middle school students. Eisenhower Elementary students will display art.

Echoes of The Past will again be on the south end of Buffalo Street.

One Dog At A Time is collecting pictures of pets past and present for their pet remembrance display tree to be displayed at the Festival of Trees in December.

Several candidates will be available for a meet and greet.

Miller Amusement will provide carnival rides for children, and Animal Grams will have pony rides.

There will be crafters and vendors who will have fall merchandise for sale.

Downtown merchants will be open late with fall specials.

The Dennie House is having a Country Harvest open house with fall sales, refreshments and coffee.

The Next Chapter is having a book signing by local author Monica Boyer.

The Downtown Eatery and Mad Anthony’s will both host a beer tent in honor of Octoberfest.

MudLove will open its doors to its new location on South Buffalo Street next to Alyson’s.

The First Friday committee is looking for even sponsors, tree sponsors and designers for the Festival Of Trees. Trees will be displayed in downtown stores and the new city hall Nov. 17 to Dec. 10.

Trees are available for purchase by online auction and for buy-it-now prices.

The trees benefit Beaman Home and Habitat For Humanity.

There also will be collection boxes for local food pantries, the Salvation Army, Angel Tree and Toys For Tots during the Festival Of Trees.

The OrthoWorx Diversity Council booth will offer Chinese and Japanese Calligraphy, Origami, Diversity Wreaths, Wheel of Diversity, free popcorn, and French Impressionist Watercolors.

Pam Price will offer a Tai Chi demonstration.
