A Warsaw man died Saturday after a fire in his residence.
Mark Allen Strickfaden, 45, was found in a bedroom on the second floor of his home at 106 N. Park Ave. by a Warsaw Fire Department search team.
Strickfaden was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital by Multi-Township EMS. Attempts to save Strickfaden's life in the KCH emergency room were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead.
Kosciusko County Coroner John Sadler said an autopsy this morning showed the preliminary cause of death was smoke inhalation.
The Warsaw Fire Department was called to the scene around 12:46 p.m. Saturday. When fire crews arrived, the home was in flames with heavy smoke conditions.
The fire is believed to have started in the family room of the home, but the blaze remains under investigation.
Strickfaden's obituary appears on page 3A.
