Three brothers face charges after a fight involving several people, including two carloads of people who stopped at the brothers' residence after allegedly having rocks thrown at their vehicles.
One teen-ager required medical attention after the brawl involving at least eight people, and police confiscated four weapons, including two guns.
Matthew I. Dilley, 21, of 2706 Old Road 30W, Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on charges of battery and disorderly conduct. He was released from custody this morning after posting $500 bond.
Jamin D. Dilley, 19, of the same address, remains in the KCJ on a charge of battery. His bond is set at $500.
Also preliminarily charged was David Shawn Dilley, 16, of the same address. He is accused of battery and disorderly conduct and was released to his mother's custody after the incident.
Police were called to a business near the Dilley residence about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. A witness provided descriptions of several cars seen leaving the scene and police stopped those vehicles as they entered Warsaw from the west. Two of the four males in one car suffered injuries and a 16-year-old male was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment of a cut to his head. A 21-year-old man in the car refused medical attention.
The four got involved in a physical confrontation at the Dilley residence because someone at the residence was throwing rocks at passing cars, including theirs. When they got out of the car, several people reportedly exited the house and a fight broke out.
One of two people in another car was booked on an outstanding warrant unrelated to the night's events. Both occupants in the car admitted being involved in the fight and said they stopped at the Dilley residence after having rocks thrown at their car.
A 17-year-old boy who was in the Dilley residence was bleeding from a cut to his finger and told police he was stabbed with a pocketknife. No charges were filed against the teen, who was later released to his mother.
The fight apparently moved onto the adjoining property after starting at the Dilley residence, where police confiscated a baseball bat, a club and two firearms that were in plain view inside the house. The items were taken for safekeeping "due to the violent nature of the incident," according to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department report.
Officers from Warsaw Police Department and Indiana State Police assisted in the incident.
