Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
New Year's Eve means parties and drinking, but anyone who overindulges can still get home safely, thanks again to Warsaw's Fast Cabs Taxi Company.
For the seventh year, Fast Cabs will offer free rides throughout Kosciusko County from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 3 a.m. Thursday, said company owner Dave Cesaretti.
He said his fleet will be in use, along with extra vehicles, this year on New Year's Eve.
Last year the company gave "hundreds of rides" in its "Save-A-Life Program," he said.
"The phone just rings off the wall," Cesaretti said. "People are being more responsible. Either they'll ride with us now or they'll ride with us later when they lose their license."
No reservations are required, but Cesaretti said that, with bad weather expected, anyone who has a specific place to go should make reservations. The response time for a cab should be approximately 15 minutes, he said, though it may be longer if the weather turns bad.
The free ride program was previously limited to the Warsaw area, but last year a sponsorship by Nelson Beverage, the beer distributor in the area, allowed the program to expand countywide.
Anyone interested in getting a ride from Fast Cabs on New Year's Eve should call 269-2222.
Other sponsors for the program this year include Rozella Ford Golf Course and Restaurant, Eagles, Schraders Auto Parts, Rex's Rendezvous, American Legion, VFW, Liquid Assets, Time Out, Moose Lodge, Service Liquors, Ramada Inn and Holiday Bowl.
