Family Video Site Preparation Work Begins In WarsawSite work began Wednesday for a Family Video store in Warsaw.
Plans are for the video store to open in mid-December at 109 E. Winona Ave., Warsaw.
Warsaw Board Of Zoning Appeals approved a setback variance for the video store in Warsaw at its June 23 meeting.
Rockford Construction Co., Grand Rapids, Mich., is the construction company building Warsaw's video store.Dave Buschke, Rockford Construction Co. superintendent, said the company began site preparation Wednesday, and the foundation will be laid next week.
During a phone interview Thursday afternoon, Keith Haza, Family Video regional director for northeast Indiana, said construction is expected to be completed by the first or second week of December. Plans are for the store to open the third or fourth week of December.
Haza said the store typically hires 10 to 12 employees, and interviews for the Warsaw store are expected to begin this month and in November.
Applicants who are interested in applying for the positions can do so on the company's Web site at www.familyvideo.com
Although there is not currently a local link on the site for the Warsaw store, Haza said applicants can register online on other local Family Video stores on the site. Applications also can be picked up at local video stores, and those who want to apply for the Warsaw store should specify that on the application.
Stores are in Columbia City, Fort Wayne, South Bend, Kendallville and Wabash.
Haza said Family Video opened its 600th store two weeks ago in Michigan, and has plans to open 50 to 60 stores this year.
Children's movies always rent for free, as well as health and fitness videos, at Family Video.
The video store also provides a full-line video rental service, Blu-Ray and game system rentals.
