CLAYPOOL – Emergency personnel responded to an early morning house fire in Claypool today which officials say did not result in any injuries.
According to Claypool Fire Chief Bob Haines, the Claypool Fire Department responded to a house fire around 12:45 a.m. at 5297 S. Country Club Road. Four of the six occupants were inside when the fire started in a second-floor bedroom. All managed to exit the house unharmed.
Haines said the fire was contained within five to 10 minutes and the house was not a total loss. He said the fire was deemed accidental though the cause is still unknown.
Kosciusko Red Cross volunteer client caseworkers responded to assist residents of the burned house, according to Kim Komdeur with the county agency. She said the family of two adults and four children received assistance for food, clothing and shelter.
