Fair Fjola Song to Play During CW Show

Posted
Local band Fair Fjola will have a song featured on the CW’s “Hart of Dixie” tonight.
According to band member Tyler Reinholt, their song “Wait For Me” off their CD “No One Gets Any” will be played in the background in the opening scene of the show. The show airs at 8 p.m. on the CW Network.
“We found out a month ago, so it’s pretty short notice,” Reinholt said.
Last summer, the band made a connection with “Hart of Dixie” sound editor Brandi Bradburn and her husband, Dan Holland. The couple loved the band’s sound and went to Pierre’s in Fort Wayne to watch Fair Fjola play in the Battle of the Bands.
Fair Fjola won the Whatzup and Wooden Nickel ninth annual band competition Aug. 2.
Band members include Reinholt, Sam Gillis, Samy Coria, Sebastian Coria, Eileen Coria Gillis and Veronica Coria.
Reinholt said Bradburn wanted to put Fair Fjola’s music in “Hart of Dixie,” but it took a while to make it happen. Their music almost got into the show three or four times, he said, but ended up not making it.
“It’s pretty cool to open the show up,” Reinholt said.
He said Bradburn will look for more opportunities to get Fair Fjola’s music in the show.
There is a clause in the band’s contract for “Hart of Dixie” that if the show wants Fair Fjola’s song on a soundtrack, the band has to approve it. “It is a possibility,” Reinholt said.
At the end of the show, the credits list the songs used in the episode and the band names.
Upcoming Fair Fjola gigs include: Record Store Day, Wooden Nickel, Fort Wayne, April 20; May Fest, late May, Tulsa, Okla.
