Extension Homemakers' Quilt Raffle Coming To Farmers Markets

Posted
The Kosciusko County Extension Homemakers mission is to strengthen families through continuing education, leadership development and volunteer community support.

They also host the open class exhibits in the Home and Family Arts Building at the Kosciusko County Community Fair. During the fair, they host a quilt raffle, which is the group’s main fundraiser for the year. The proceeds from the raffle go to help support the expense of hosting the open class show and to award scholarships to two county residents.

Since there will be no fair this year, the Extension Homemakers have decided to set up a booth at three different farmers markets: Warsaw on Saturday, Syracuse on July 11 and Mentone on July 25. This year’s quilt will be on display and tickets can be purchased. Tickets can also be purchased from any Extension Homemaker member.

The drawing for the quilt will be held at the Extension Homemakers Annual Achievement night on Aug. 19, and the winners will be contacted by phone. The booth will also have information on what the Purdue Extension Homemakers do in their local communities and how people can join them.
