Stephanie A. Esenwein, who served two four-year terms as Kosciusko County treasurer, now seeks the office of Tippecanoe Township assessor.
She worked in the treasurer's office for 15 years, eight of those as treasurer, and Esenwein has the experience to handle the demands of running a county office.
Esenwein has been responsible for payroll, budgets, accounts, banking, investments and issuing the proper forms by the proper deadline.
She is familiar with mobile home permits and personal property and realizes the important role assessments have on tax figures.
Esenwein is presently working in the Child Support Division of the County Prosecutor's Office, having learned two new computer programs required by that office.
Esenwein is a past member of the Indiana County Treasurer's Association where she served two years as chairperson of the Officer's Nominating Committee, the Association of Indiana Counties, and is presently still a member of the Republican Women's Club and the philanthropic sorority, Psi Iota Xi.
"I look upon this opportuntity as a new challenge to serve the community where I have lived for more than 30 years," said Esenwein. "I have interacted with the public in all kinds of situations in the past 16 years and will work hard for the residents of Tippecanoe Township. I already have the knowledge of working with the computer programs used by the township.
"I care about the people of Tippecanoe Township and want to give them the best, personal, friendly and proper service possible."
She is the mother of three children: Amber, Erika and John. She loves the lake area and enjoys fishing from her paddleboat on Kiser Lake.
