ETNA GREEN - The Etna Green Town Council looked at maps provided by the Kosciusko County Area Plan Commission Tuesday showing existing land use and potential zoning classifications.
The council decided to table approval of the maps so citizens could look at the maps and voice their thoughts on the zoning. The council will continue their discussion of the maps at the next meeting, July 10, at 7 p.m. in the Heritage Park Building.
The council also discussed the repainting of the water tower. They received a quote of $16,900. The council decided to table the decision to go ahead with the repainting until they determine which fund to use to pay for the work.
The council approved a motion to order a new blower for the wastewater plant. The blower will cost approximately $1,600.
A complaint was brought up during the meeting about the problem of people riding ATVs through the grass in the park. The concern with this is that a child who is playing in the park could be injured by one riding through. The council is looking into a sign stating that no motor vehicles should be in the park.
The council approved a $100 donation to the Bourbon Library towards their summer reading program.
