Etna Green Resident Calls 911 on Salesmen

Posted
ETNA GREEN – Kosciusko County Central Dispatch Center was contacted Tuesday at 6:58 p.m. by an Etna Green area resident in regards to a male subject that had came to her door.

The complainant reported the subject knocked on her door and once open he displayed a can. She immediately slammed the door and called 911 and provided the vehicle description and direction to the dispatch center.

Just prior to 7:30 p.m., Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy Kreg Kuhn located the described tan/beige-colored van in the area of CRs 200N and 950W. All occupants were found to be Kirby Vacuum Cleaner sales members.  They provided proper credentials and also had a Warsaw city sales permit. They also had Kirby vacuum cleaners and free cans of Glade canned air freshener for citizens that would allow them to ask/answer questions.

Kuhn advised the members their sales tactics were disturbing citizens, but not against any Indiana laws and they were released. No other criminal incidents or violations of law have been reported or documented by KCSD deputies.

KCSD officers had been advised of similar vacuum cleaner sales members last week in different locations of Kosciusko County. On those occasions, again there was no crime committed in accordance to law.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department advises its citizens that they can always call the dispatch center if they have questions or if they request an officer to investigate an situation.

KCSD always suggest that you should be cautious when answering your door and to dial the emergency 911 number if you feel you are in danger.
