An Etna Green man died Sunday night from injuries sustained from a car accident in September.
Dale Watkins, 91, Etna Green, died at 11:45 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. According to nurse Caitlin Steffe at Miller’s Merry Manor, Watkins died from a brain hemorrhage and several broken bones.
Watkins was involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Ind. 19 on Sept. 14.
At 8:06 a.m., Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a collision between a semi-tractor trailer and a 2000 Buick, driven by Watkins.
Watkins was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment and later to Lutheran Hospital for further treatment. The driver of the semi, Jason Osgood, 27, Adrian, Mich., was not injured.
Multi-Township EM and Etna Green Fire Department assisted.
According to the police report on the incident, Watkins was traveling eastbound on U.S. 30 at Ind. 19 and decided to turn south onto Ind. 19 in front of Osgood. At that time, Osgood was driving westbound and collided with Watkins then jack-knifed.
