ETNA GREEN - The Etna Green Town Council provided an update on the town's trail project at Heritage Park during a brief meeting on Tuesday.
Council President Heath Roberts said phase two of the project has started, with power for lights around the new walking trail expected to be trenched in sometime in March. The town is continuing its partnership with Kosciusko County Community Coordinator Amy Roe and looking at options for phase three.
Roberts also said he'll be reaching out to The Lions Club about removing the softball diamond at Heritage Park, noting its deterioration.
"I do want to keep the home plate out there and permanently put it in concrete, so that anyone who's ever played ball out in that field can always come back to that plate and that will still always be there," said Roberts.
Clerk-Treasurer Ann Anglin also informed residents copies of the trash and recycling pick-up calendar are available at the clerk-treasurer's office.
Council also:
• Approved $894 in water adjustments for residents at the Etna Green Mobile Home Park.
• Approved a contract with Sawvel for a study on the town's electric rates.
• Approved paying town employee Richard McManis for 40 hours of comp time.
• Council's next meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10.
