An incident Thursday at the Underground, 3685 Lake City Highway suite E, Warsaw, landed an employee in jail. Alexus N. McKinzie, 18, of 908 E. Jefferson St., Warsaw, was arrested for battery resulting in bodily injury and disorderly conduct – noise. Warsaw police responded shortly after 3:15 p.m. Thursday after an employee of a neighboring business was reportedly battered by McKinzie. The Underground was closed to business at 4 p.m. Officers then returned to the location at 5:17 p.m. on a drug complaint. A press release related to this incident is pending approval of the prosecutor’s office. The Underground is a head shop known for selling tobacco accessories. McKinzie was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on a $500 bond.
