The annual Thanksgiving dinner hosted by Elks Lodge 802 is Nov. 28 at Center Lake Pavilion. Turkeys are cooked at American Legion Post 49 then transported to Center Lake Pavilion. The business community donates funds to purchase the meals. The menu includes turkey, green beans, sweet potatoes, gravy, mashed potatoes, pies, coffee and orange drink. A free sit-down meal will be at the pavilion on Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. “We want to get the message out this is open to anyone in the community,” said Teresa Evans, dinner co-chair. People who are shut-ins and want meals delivered to their homes can call the Elks Lodge at 574-267-7802 after 3 p.m. to pre-order the free meals. The meals will be delivered Nov. 28 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers also are needed for set up, clean up and serving for the dinner at the pavilion. To volunteer, call the Elks lodge.
