An Elkhart man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly having sex with a Warsaw minor he met on Facebook. Salvador Ivan Torres, 22, Elkhart, was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, a class B felony. Warsaw Community High School resource officer David Morales, also of the Warsaw Police Department, was alerted by a school counselor that had learned from a teacher that a 15 year-old female had met Torres on Facebook some time before October 31, 2011. The probable cause affidavit from the prosecutor’s office alleged that between October and November 2011 Torres met with the girl and had intercourse in a van near her home. An investigation by the Indiana State Police found that Torres, who was 21 at the time, knew the girl was only 15. Torres was booked into KCJ on a $10,000 bond.
