Elkhart County Hit By Armed Robbers 3 Times In 1 Night

NEW PARIS - An armed robbery in New Paris Wednesday night is one of three under investigation by the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department.

The New Paris robbery occurred at 10:20 p.m. at the Stop and Go at 68940 Ind. 15. New Paris is located north of the Kosciusko County line, between Milford and Goshen.

Elkhart County officials said that three males entered the store and that two of the men displayed small handguns and demanded money. One of the suspects is described as a black male wearing a ski mask; the other descriptions are incomplete.

Another armed robbery was reported at 7:20 p.m. at the Henschen Oil Amoco on Ind. 19 in Elkhart. In this incident, two black males reportedly entered the store and one of the men displayed a small handgun and demanded money. One of the suspects was wearing a ski mask and the other used the hood of his jacket to cover his face. A third black male was allegedly observed in a waiting vehicle.

The third armed robbery occurred at about 11:40 p.m. at the Red D Mart on CR 20 in Elkhart. Again, two black males entered the store and one of them displayed a handgun and demanded money.

No one was injured during any of the incidents and the amount of money taken during the robberies was not disclosed. Authorities said that clothing descriptions of the individuals was similar in all three robberies.

Detectives are continuing the investigation and the possibility that the incidents are connected. Anyone with information from any of the robberies is asked to contact police.
