ST. MICHAELS, Md. — Eastern Shore musician and composer Mark Gadson, formerly of Warsaw, announced the release of his new single, “My Forever Valentine,” available on all major music distribution and streaming platforms April 3.
The jazz ballad is a personal tribute written for his wife, Karen Gadson, in recognition of her unwavering love and support throughout his musical journey, according to a provided news release.
Inspired by a quiet moment at the piano, Gadson began reflecting on the many ways Karen has stood beside him during the unpredictable rhythm of a musician’s life. From late-night studio sessions and countless rough mixes to live performances and the quiet doubts that sometimes follow creative work, she has remained a steady and encouraging presence, stated the release.
“As I was writing the song, I realized it wasn’t just a melody — it was a reflection of Karen,” Gadson said. “Through every part of this journey, she has been my constant harmony in a life that can sometimes feel improvised and unpredictable.”
“My Forever Valentine” features a jazz ensemble including tenor saxophone, electric guitar, piano, bass and drums, creating a rich musical backdrop for the song’s heartfelt message. The composition blends lyrical melody and soulful improvisation, capturing the feeling of gratitude, love and enduring partnership.
Gadson hopes listeners will find their own meaning in the music.
“I hope when people hear the song, they think about someone special in their own lives — someone who has supported them, believed in them, and helped them keep going when things felt uncertain,” he said.
The single will be available on all major music distribution and streaming platforms beginning April 3.
