MILFORD -ÊSeveral agencies worked together Thursday to execute what is believed to be the largest drug bust in the history of Kosciusko County.

More than $220,000 in cash, 127 pounds of marijuana, three kilos of cocaine, several weapons and drug paraphernalia reportedly were found inside the home of Jose and Yolanda Gonzales.

Jose Gonzales, 53, and Yolanda Gonzales, 46, of 13367 N. CR 100E, Milford, were both arrested for dealing cocaine/narcotic drugs more than three grams (a Class A felony) and dealing marijuana more than 10 pounds (a Class C felony). The couple is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail without bond.

"I can safely say that the street value of the drugs alone is more than $300,000," said Lt. Joe Mooney of the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force. "This is the largest single drug arrest in Kosciusko County."

"This is one of the biggest drug busts in Kosciusko County history," said Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine.

Thursday's arrests are the result of a several-month investigation. The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force joined forces with the Fort Wayne Narcotics Division and the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section, Milford Police Department and Syracuse Police Department to investigate the rural Milford home and execute the bust Thursday evening.

"I think this is a good example of what can happen when everyone cooperates with each other," said Rovenstine. "This was a good result."

Police officials believe Thursday's arrests shut down one of the largest suppliers of illegal drugs in Kosciusko and southern Elkhart counties.

If convicted, the Gonzales' will face losing their property as well as the cash, jewelry and weapons seized in the raid.

"We are working with the prosecutor's office to seize the house, vehicles and four-wheelers," said Rovenstine.

Laura Gonzales, 21, of 109 E. North St., Milford, also was arrested for disorderly conduct after an incident at the scene of the drug bust. Her bond was set at $300.

The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force also was assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office, Indiana State Police and the Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team.
