RR Donnelleys Premedia Technologies Division will be permanently closing its operations at 2801 W. Old Rd. 30, terminating 86 employee positions over the first quarter of 2006.
In a Nov. 7 letter to Mayor Ernie Wiggins, the company stated that "changing market conditions" forced the company to eliminate its Premedia Technologies department.
Warsaw's RR Donnelley branch declined comment on the matter.
The Premedia Technologies division was responsible for digital assess management, facilities management and color and pre-press functions.
According to Wiggins, the lay-offs occured due to customers relying on in-house labor rather than Premedia's services.
While RR Donneley is announcing the lay-offs, it also anticipates an $800,000 expansion to its east bindary department at the Warsaw plant.
