Donations to help Iowa can be made through Salvation Army

Salvation Army Community Ministries Director Ken Locke’s boyhood home of Marshalltown, Iowa, was decimated by a tornado Thursday.

He said some of his family were in the path of the storm but no one was injured.

“I had just been out there visiting and attended a reunion at the church I grew up in. The roof has been totally ripped off that structure,” he said.

If you would like to support the relief efforts, call 800-SAL-ARMY to make a donation.

“The Salvation Army sustained damage being in the storm's path but it is open and serving in the name of Jesus,” Locke said.

If you would like to donate locally by check, send it to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1257, Warsaw, IN 46581. Put "Marshalltown" in the memo line.

“It will take time for the city to recover but they are ‘Hawkeye Strong’ and looking to God during this difficult time. Thanks to everyone who has called or messaged with support and prayers,”?he said.
