Posted
A couple was arrested Thursday after a domestic dispute at a motel brought out police, who subsequently found a sawed-off shotgun and an active meth lab.

Warsaw police responding to a 911 hang-up at the Super 8 motel at 3014 Frontage Road, Warsaw, met with a woman and her 1-1/2-month-old baby in the lobby, where the woman told officers she had been involved in a domestic dispute with a man, according to Warsaw police. When police went to the room to speak with the man, they found a sawed-off shotgun  and another shotgun lying on the bed, and immediately placed Joe Truman Lynn, 31, Bremen, into custody, police said.

A police K-9 involved in the investigation then pointed officers down to the couple’s vehicle in the hotel lot, in which police found an active one-pot meth lab brewing inside, police said.

The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team was called in to process the lab.

Lynn faces preliminary charges of possession of a sawed-off shotgun, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. He is being held in Kosciusko County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

The woman – 20-year-old Staci Mae Craig, of 436 W. Riverchase Drive, Warsaw – was arrested and faces preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. She is being held in lieu of a $2,000 bond.

The infant was placed into custody of the Child Protective Services, who handed the child off to family members, police said.
