Domestic Battery Charges Filed In Nov. IncidentA Liberty man is facing domestic battery charges after allegedly grabbing and hitting a woman with children present.

Rodney E. Turner, 69, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 5:02 p.m. Wednesday on two counts of domestic battery. His preliminary bond was set at $5,250.

Court documents filed Nov. 29 list the charges against him as domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.

On Nov. 25, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy Craig Summers responded to a domestic battery incident. The location was redacted from court documents.

Upon arrival, he spoke with the victim who said she and Turner were arguing in the kitchen when he became angry, grabbed her by the neck and hit her on the face. Summers saw red marks on each side of the victim’s neck.

A witness said he saw the two arguing, but did not see the argument escalate to a physical confrontation because he was not in the kitchen the entire time.

Present in the home when Turner grabbed the victim by the neck and hit her were three children.

A no contact order was entered Nov. 29.
