Vickie's Dog Parade will be Saturday at the Kosciusko County Farmers Market in downtown Warsaw.
This parade is a fundraiser for the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County.
It is also a tribute to a friend of the market and an avid dog lover, Vickie Boraker of Warsaw, who passed away in May.
The parade will be on Center Street between Buffalo and Lake streets in downtown Warsaw.
A small donation to the AWL will give people a chance to show off their dog, win a prize and contribute to the AWL.
Needed item for the AWL are paper towels, pet toys, hand sanitizer, canned cat food, disinfectant wipes and bleach, according to Darla McCammon, AWL executive director.
Registration for the dog parade is at 9 a.m. Saturday at the corner of Buffalo and Center streets.
Boraker’s three French poodles will be in the parade along with other dogs whose owners register them.
It was a dream of Borakers to hold a dog parade during the farmers market as a fundraiser for the AWL.
That dream will come true Saturday at 10 a.m. in downtown Warsaw.
Contest categories are the smallest or biggest dog, best costume, best trick or owner and dog look-alike.
