Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District recently announced that Dr. Otto Doering will be speaking at its annual meeting Feb. 28, at 6:30pm, at the Warsaw Ramada Inn.
The audience will enjoy Doering’s engaging and entertaining style as he discusses “The Budget and What it Means for Conservation.”
Doering is an agriculture economist from Purdue University, where he is involved in teaching, research, service and adult education focused on the economic analysis of public policy in agriculture, energy and natural resources.
His resume is lengthy and diverse, as a teacher, consultant and researcher, as well as through his university associations and public service.
He has received several awards, including: President’s Leadership Award from the Soil and Water Conservation Society; Purdue University Cooperative Extension Career Award; National Distinguished Policy Contribution Award from the American Agricultural Economics Association; Recognition for Quality of Communication from the American Agricultural Economics Association; American Society of Agricultural Engineers Blue Ribbon Award for Educational Programming; and the National Extension Economics Teaching Award from the American Agricultural Economics Association.
Some of his recent service work is with: U.S. EPA Scientific Advisory Board Integrated Nitrogen Committee; National Academy of Sciences Committee on the Mississippi River and the Clean Water Act; National Science Foundation evaluator, Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers (e-Design and Cooling Technologies Research).
