Discount Tire is being built on North Parker Street in Warsaw with plans to open in August. Construction on the 8,000-square-foot building at 857 N. Parker St. began March 28, and construction will end in August, according to Ron Archer, Discount Tire vice president of Indiana and Ohio stores. DZI Construction, Clarkston, Mich., is the general contractor for the store that will be located south of Menards. Other Discount Tire locations in Indiana include Fort Wayne, South Bend, Elkhart, Mishawaka, Muncie, Lafayette and Indianapolis. There are over 900 stores coast to coast. Archer said location is what brought the business to Warsaw. “It’s catty-corner from our other locations and had a great demographic,” Archer said. “The time was right for us to grow in this area.” Services the business offers are tire and wheel sales, tire rotations, repairs and tire balances. Plans are to hire 25 to 30 people. Positions needed are service technicians and assistant managers. Interviews and applications will be available at discounttire.com 35 to 45 days before construction is completed in August.
