On June 27, Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw will host the Heritage Walk from 1 to 4 p.m.
The last group will start at 3:30 p.m.
This year they are going to celebrate war veterans. They have 11 that are going to be portrayed in this walk.
According to a news release from the cemetery, “The tough part about this walk is that we can’t portray all veterans in Oakwood Cemetery as it would be in the thousands. So many men and women have laid their lives on the line for us so we can live free. So, we will have a memorial wall in the chapel so you can bring a picture of your loved one or a simple note with their name, rank or a brief memory that you have and stick it on the wall.”
The cemetery will have some tables set up in the chapel for anyone who would like to display anything about their loved one that they would like to share about their time in the service.
Send an email and let cemetery sexton Hal Heagy know if you would like to do this. His email is hheagy@warsaw.in.gov
