This year, 280 DePuy Orthopaedics employees participated in the Kosciusko County United Way Day of Caring Wednesday.
Employees volunteered their time to work on home improvement projects that ranged from roofing to painting and yard work.
“Every year, hundreds of DePuy employees sign up to help to those in the community who need a little extra help,” said Andrew Ekdahl, worldwide president, DePuy Orthopaedics. “It’s an experience that touches the hearts of everyone who participates – whether you’re giving or receiving help.”
The Kosciusko County United Way Day of Caring started eight years ago with five projects and 25 volunteers. This year there were 79 projects. For every volunteer hour that is worked on the Day of Caring, the Housing Opportunities Office receives matching grant funds.
“This was a great event, and we’re looking forward to kicking off our annual United Way fundraising activities that will allow us to help even more people in our community,” said Ekdahl.
