Kosciusko County Democrat headquarters will close its office for good at its Winona Avenue location effective Sept. 30. Steve Haines, Democrat member, said the office that has been open for nearly two years at 417 E. Winona Ave., Warsaw, is closing as the larger-than-needed space is being underutilized. Another reason behind the closure is the cost to maintain the headquarters building versus the benefits not being feasible. Haines said the announcement went in the Democrat party’s monthly newsletters to inform its members of the headquarters closing its doors. The party has met once a month for its meetings at the headquarters, and it is a non-election year so members are not at the headquarters to make phone calls as they would be during an election year, Haines said. Haines said the party will need to decide where to locate its headquarters next year as 2014 is an election year.
