Deer Measuring Event Set Saturday In Col. City

COLUMBIA CITY – The Eighth Annual Indianaoutdoorsman. proboards.com Deer Measuring Expo is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year’s event is at a new location: Troy Presbyterian Church Reception Hall, 6465 W. Lincolnway, Columbia City.
Admission, parking and food are all free and measurers will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donations will be accepted to cover the cover the cost of food and mileage for the measurers.
This is the largest deer measuring event in northern Indiana. Several thousand hunters, their wives and children have attended over the past seven years.
More than 300 racks have been measured.
Most of the deer being brought in were harvested last year from Northern Indiana.
Hoosier Record Book Coordinator and Measurer John Bogucki will be on hand for the day.
Also, Dean Weimer, outdoor writer for North American Whitetail, Indiana Fish and Game Magazine, and the Indiana pro staff of Bill Winke's Midwest Whitetail, also will be on hand to measure racks.
All species are welcome to be measured. In the past, elk, whitetail deer, mule deer, antelope and bear have been brought to the event. All trophies will be on display throughout the day.
Vendors are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis depending on space available. Vendors with archery or crossbow booths should bring targets as there will be room outside for customers to shoot.
