Despite a merger of the Baker Youth Club and the Boys and Girls Club of Kosciusko County, a popular car show that raises money for area kids is set to have its engine roar.
The 21st annual Cruisin’ Hoosiers Car Club Car Truck and Motorcycle Show is set for Aug. 27 from noon to 6 p.m. at the site of what is currently Buick GMC on Ind. 15N in Warsaw.
The yearly event is to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Kosciusko County.
Despite that organization’s merger with Baker Youth Club, proceeds will still go to benefit the children of Kosciusko County, said Paul Jenkins.
Jenkins serves as treasurer of the car club and chairman of the car show.
Jenkins said last year, after the event, the club wrote the Boys & Girls Club a check for $11,000.
He said with community support and a good partnership with Baker Youth Club Director Tracy Furnivall, he hopes that number on the check is up in 2011.
Gates open at noon, and registration is from noon to 3:30 p.m.
From 1 to 4 p.m., there will be judging.
An awards ceremony starts at 5:30 p.m.
There will be entertainment throughout the day with food vendors and displays.
There also will be a hog roast.
Not-for-profits like the Animal Welfare League will be on hand, and 98.3 WIOE’s Brian Walsh will have his helicopter on site.
