NOBLE COUNTY - A Cromwell woman admitted she was driving drunk Aug. 19 when she hit three pedestrians.
Candy J. Hill, 30, of 3606 N. CR 1025W, Cromwell, pleaded guilty to one count of driving while intoxicated causing death (a Class C felony), two counts of driving while intoxicated resulting in serious bodily injury (a Class A misdemeanor), dangerous driving (a Class A misdemeanor), operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of at least .08 percent and less than .15 percent (a Class C misdemeanor), and driving without insurance (a Class A infraction).
She will be sentenced Feb. 9 in Noble County Circuit Court.
Hill was driving on Cromwell Road in Noble County Aug. 19 when she hit pedestrians Travis Williams, 24, Ruby Rookstool, 18, and Heather Scrivens, 22.
All three pedestrians were transported to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Williams and Rookstool were airlifted to the hospital by the Samaritan Air Ambulance, while Scrivens was transported to Fort Wayne by the Noble County EMS.
Williams, 24, of 8123 E. CR 250S, Pierceton, suffered head injuries. He died two days later after being removed from life support.
Rookstool and Scrivens suffered multiple injuries in the accident.
