CROMWELL – A Cromwell teen was placed in juvenile detention early today after police say he robbed a friend’s roommate of a digital camera while armed with a gun. Police were called around 1 a.m. today to a home in the 12000 block of North Raggedy Ann, Cromwell, where a man told dispatchers a 16-year-old was in the home with a gun. On scene, the man told Syracuse Police that Austin Guerrero had come to his home, pointed a gun at him and robbed him of a $500 digital camera, according to a police incident report. Police caught up with Guerrero at his grandmother’s home in the 9800 block of King Arthur’s Trail in Cromwell, and officers searched the home and found a loaded gun in a dresser, the report said. Guerrero told police a camera was tucked beneath his bed that he’d received as a gift, though it was matched by police as the one stolen. Police transported Guerrero to the Pierceton Woods Academy.
