CROMWELL – A Cromwell man was arrested following a May incident during which he impersonated a law enforcement official. According to an affidavit filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department officer responded to a subject impersonating a police officer in a gray Cadillac initiating a traffic stop at 9159 E. Doswell Blvd., Cromwell. Dispatch advised the Cadillac was registered to Jaccob Denver Jensen, 25, of 11926 N. Raggedy Ann Road, Cromwell. Police spoke with Jensen who advised he was traveling home from fishing and a vehicle was following too close and passed him, causing Jensen to run off the roadway. Jensen told the officer he activated two flashing lights mounted on the grill of his vehicle and activated his audible siren and pulled the vehicle over. Jensen further admitted he obtained the driver’s license and registration from the driver of the vehicle and wrote down the name of the driver and returned his license. Jensen stated he then left the area. The officer later spoke to the second driver who stated he was traveling from Enchanted Hills Trailer Park and a gray Cadillac with two flashing lights and an audible siren stopped him. He advised a while male approached his vehicle asking why he had been driving reckless. The victim stated the man took his driver’s license and registration and walked back to his vehicle. The man allegedly then returned with the victim’s license and registration and returned them. When the victim asked to see the man’s badge, he told the victim he had left the badge at home. Jensen was arrested and charged with one count of impersonating a public servant, a Class D felony.
