WINONA LAKE - The community is invited to get moving this spring and join in a crime victim's rights 5K Walk/Run on April 9 in Winona Lake.

All pre-registered participants are guaranteed a t-shirt with their $15 entry fee. Entry fee after March 30 and on race day is $20.
Race day registration is 8 to 8:45 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m. from the Winona Lake Town Park.
This event is managed by Kosciusko Runners' Association, with awards in 13 age-group categories and special trophies to the first overall male and female runners.
The Warsaw Police Department's victim services coordinator assisted 239 victims in 2010.
National Crime Victims' Rights Week is a time to honor victims and the advocates of victims' rights. This year's theme, "Reshaping the Future, Honoring the Past", evokes victims' past struggles and the nation's duty to help them rebuild stronger lives.
For victims, reshaping the future means confronting many challenges. After a crime, victims need to know what rights and resources they can count on.
For victim advocates, reshaping the future, particularly in these financially stressed times, means finding ways to do more with less.
It means locating resources for victims who want them and helping new victims.
