ETNA GREEN - An Etna Green man is in fair condition after a one-car accident this morning on Ind. 19, one-half mile north of Ind. 10, near Etna Green.

Michael Wilcox, 19, of West State Street, was ejected from his car and the car landed on top of him after it rolled over several times.

According to Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department Deputy John Hart, Wilcox was southbound on Ind. 19 about 5:45 a.m. today when the wheels of his car apparently dropped off the side of the roadway as he entered the curves there. Hart said it appears that Wilcox then overcorrected his vehicle and went off the road on the east side, where the car rolled over multiple times.

Wilcox was not wearing a seat belt.

Because of the severity of Wilcox's injuries, the Samaritan helicopter landed at the scene to transport him to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. A spokesperson there said Wilcox was in fair condition at 9:30 a.m. today.

Assisting at the scene were personnel from Etna Green Fire Department and First Responders, Indiana State Police and Multi-Township Emergency Medical Service.
