Sue Ann Mitchell, Kosciusko County treasurer, recently reminded taxpayers that property taxes are due Nov. 10.
Tax bills were mailed in March with payment coupons for both spring and fall payments included in that mailing.
Taxpayers that do not have their payment coupon can call the treasurer’s office at 574-372-2370 to request one be mailed or determine the amount of property taxes due.
Taxpayers may look up taxes online at www.kcgov.com
Selecting “Beacon Online Mapping” from the banner in the left margin will take visitors to the Beacon website that requires the the visitor to agree with the terms.
There is no charge to use the website, but solicitation with the information is prohibited.
A search can be conducted by several methods including taxpayer name, address, map key number, state ID number and tax ID number.
Once the correct parcel is selected, scroll to the bottom of the page for tax information.
To verify taxes due, look at the 10 pay 11 column. The amount displayed under taxes due is the amount that is due to pay the taxes in full for 2011.
Questions should be directed to the treasurer’s office. The treasurer also has additional information on the operation of the office displayed under “Departments” “Property Tax & Records” then “Treasurer.”
Taxes may be paid in person at the courthouse, 100 W Center St., Warsaw, IN 46580, with cash, check or money order.
Credit cards/debit cards can be accepted in the office for an additional 2.95 percent convenience fee.
Partial payments are accepted. Courthouse hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Note that the courthouse will be closed Tuesday for city elections.
Those needing to use the handicapped entrance should use the west lower door across the street from the Justice Building. Enter under the main stairway and take the elevator to the second floor.
Taxes may be mailed to: Kosciusko County Treasurer, P.O. Box 1764, Warsaw, IN 46581.
If they are mailed, be sure they are postmarked by November 10.
If payments are dropped in a mail box late in the day, they may not have the correct postmark. Taxpayers may want to request the post office to hand cancel the stamp with a date no later than Nov. 10.
Enclose both the B Fall and C Taxpayer's Copies of tax bills along with a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of your receipt.
Taxes may be paid at Crossroads, Campbell & Fetter, PNC, Mutual Bank, Tower Bank, Lake City and Farmers State Bank if there are no delinquencies.
Taxpayers must have a tax payment coupon to make tax payments at the bank.
Taxes may be paid online with a credit card at www.kosciuskotax.net which will require a 2.95 percent fee. Credit cards may also be used by calling 800-809-5849.
