Contract Approved To Make Signs In City Hall ADA Compliant

Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety approved a contract Friday to make sure signage at the new city hall is compliant with American With Disabilities Act standards.
The board approved a contract not to exceed $1,200 with SLA Design for signage coordination for the new city hall on Buffalo Street.
The company will bid out the sign work and make sure signs are installed.
Jeremy Skinner, city planner, said the work will be to coordinate signs for restrooms, elevators and directions.
Skinner said the letters on the signs don’t need to be in brail, but the numbers do.
Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer said the signs are required to meet ADA compliance.
Skinner said the city this year will go through a process to make sure signage at all Warsaw facilties is ADA compliant.
This also includes that city and parks department programs meet ADA standards, Skinner said.
In other business the board approved a $1,700 contract between the city and Scearce Rudisel Architects for additional design work on the new city hall.
The contract is to redesign the payment desk at the sewage department.
The board approved a $9,800 contract between the city and Scearce Rudisel for the design of the community plaza and city-owned restrooms.
