BOURBON – Indiana conservation officers are investigating the shooting of a fawn deer Saturday around 4 p.m. in Marshall County. The incident occurred in the 15000 block of Fir Road, north of 15B Road. According to a press release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, officers are searching for the operator of a small yellow hatchback compact car similar to a Ford Focus or Dodge Caliber. The operator of the vehicle is described as a white male, possibly bald, who was wearing a sleeveless shirt and blue jeans. He was accompanied by a white female. A passing motorist observed the male subject exit the vehicle and shoot into the adjacent field several times with what appeared to be a shotgun. The female was also seen exiting the vehicle. After shooting into the field the subject left the area and did not make any attempt to recover what he had just shot.
