Congressman Stutzman Stops In Warsaw To Support County Republicans

Posted
Congressman Marlin Stutzman visited Warsaw Thursday afternoon as part of a campaign stop to support Kosciusko County Republicans running in the November election.
The event was a lunch sponsored by the Curt Nisly for State Representative committee at the Kosciusko County Republican headquarters.
“We are in the home stretch and excited about the election coming up, and need to run as a team so we can win as a team,” Stutzman said. “Kosciusko County is the strongest Republican county in the entire district and probably the entire state for that matter.”
Stutzman presented a $1,000 check to the Kosciusko County GOP party.
Stutzman said growing up on a farm  he remembers looking back on days he didn’t enjoy.
“My dad would always send me for some reason out to the cow pen and I would be out their shoveling manure, and I was always thinking that I didn’t know what value that had for my life,” Stutzman said. “Now that I am in Congress I really understand a little bit more.”
He said he thinks Republicans will hold the Senate and the House, and the president will put the throttle down on executive orders and continue to use the executive and judicial branches over the next two years to pass policies that the American people don’t agree with.
“That’s not how our government should operate and that is not the appropriate thing to do when American people are disagreeing with his decisions,” Stutzman said.
There is a budget deadline Dec. 11 when the budget will expire.
“We need to remember our conservative roots that Americans believe in,” Stutzman said.
He said the healthcare law needs to be fixed because it is broken.
He spoke about the threat in the Middle East. He said there are extremists killing Christians and Iran is the greatest threat with its nuclear capability.
“We need strong leadership, and we all know how frustrating it is to watch our president and the lack of leadership that comes out of the White House,” Stutzman said.
He said it is nice to be from Indiana when serving in Washington.
“Indiana has a balanced budget and a much stronger economy than other places,” Stutzman said.
Stutzman said the manufacturing sector in Indiana is strong and the medical device tax is pushing companies to build overseas.
“Democrats talk about pushing jobs overseas, but it’s their policies that are sending jobs overseas, and that’s why we need Republican leadership and both parties to understand economic principles,” Stutzman said. “This can’t just be an us versus them. We need to understand we are for the American people.”
