Warsaw police officers arrested three minors shortly after midnight today for underage drinking and released two others to their guardians.

According to WPD reports, an officer on bike patrol was notified by a passerby of minors drinking in Central Park. The officer did not encounter them in the park but later identified a male fitting the description off North Park Avenue on Glessner Street.

The suspects reportedly ran toward a house, but stopped on the porch. They huddled together and the officer sought protection behind a vehicle. Other officers responded to the call.

A male suspect, later identifed as Trent Allen Fulk, 18, Columbia City, was asked to submit to a portable breath test and allegedly resisted arrest and kicked the door and cage of the police car.

The other suspects also were given portable breath tests.

Fulk was charged with resisting/fleeing law enforcement, illegal possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor, disorderly conduct and public intoxication. His bond was set at $250.

Daniel Edgar Banks, 19, of 6825 U.S. 30W, Larwill, and Travis Lyn Rider, 18, Columbia City, were charged with illegal possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor. Both teens' bonds were set at $175.

Fulk's blood-alcohol content reportedly tested .127 percent; Banks', .101 percent; and Rider's, .059 percent.

Two Warsaw girls were transported to Warsaw Police Department and released to their guardians.

Nicole Lea Vining, 17, of 1300 Meadowlark Blvd., Warsaw, reportedly had a BAC of .120 percent, and Linzy Nicole Cox, 16, of 1329 Gable Drive, Warsaw, had a BAC of .097 percent. Both were charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and curfew violation.
