Staff Report-
Kosciusko Community Foundation is seeking nominations for its Heart Of Gold awards.
The program recognizes ordinary people in the community who perform extraordinary acts of kindness for others, according to Stephanie Overbey, foundation communications and program director.
The foundation invites individuals to nominate up to two people for the award.
If a person has nominated someone in the past, the foundation encourages that person not to be nominated again, but share the honor with someone new.
Nominees must be people who live, work or volunteer in Kosciusko County. There are no age restrictions regarding who can nominate or who can be nominated.
There will be up to 50 people nominated who will be invited to a Heart of Gold reception June 15 at Center Lake Pavilion at 6:45 p.m.
They will meet their nominators there, be recognized and have the opportunity to award a Community Foundation grant in their honor to a charity of their choice.
Last year, $10,200 was granted to area nonprofit organizations to honor Heart of Gold recipients.
The deadline for nominations is April 28 and nomination forms are available online at www.kcfoundation.org or by visiting the foundation office at 102 E. Market St., Warsaw.
Since 1968, the foundation has brought caring people and charitable endeavors together for the good of the community.
The foundation is a public charity, and gifts made to the foundation are tax-deductible. For more information about the foundation, call 574-267-1901.
