Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
On Friday, June 5, local organizations are inviting men ages 18 and older to attend Gather By The Fire, a free community event at Magical Meadows, 3386 E. 525 N., Warsaw.
The evening is designed to provide a relaxed, welcoming environment where men can enjoy good food, meaningful conversation and genuine connection with others in the community, according to a news release provided by CARES.
Grilled food will be served from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a brief panel discussion at 6 p.m. Yard games, socializing and time around the fire will continue throughout the evening. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the peaceful outdoor setting.
Door prizes available include donations made by Rocksteady Pizza, Male Fashions, J.B. Furniture, Moving Pictures Tattoo Cinema, Nicodemus Cards & Gaming, Kyle’s Barber Shop, Fellowship Missions, Project Ebenezer and more.
The discussion will be moderated by RJ Nethaway, of Project Ebenezer, and feature local men sharing their experiences navigating life, family responsibilities, work pressures, service, recovery and personal challenges. Panelists include Nethawa; Scott Harguess, Fellowship Missions; veteran David Bailey, Warsaw Community Schools/ Gateway Education Center; Jarred White, FW22, veteran; and Tommy Streeter, Allendale Treatment.
Gather By The Fire was created to create a space where men can build relationships, support one another, and realize they are not alone in what they carry. There is no pressure to share, speak or participate in the discussion. Men are welcome to simply grab a meal, listen, enjoy the evening and spend time with others. Organizers hope the event will encourage connection, reduce isolation, and spark conversations that continue long after the fire goes out.
Attendees are encouraged but not required to RSVP on the event's Facebook page so organizers can ensure enough food is available for everyone.
