SYRACUSE -ÊThe death of a man whose body was found along the side of a railroad east of Milford early Friday morning has been ruled a homicide.
The snow-covered body of Willie B. Walker, 26, of Cleveland, Ohio, was found next to a CSX railroad track east of CR 300E, just north of CR 1300N near Milford around 5 a.m. Friday.
A train crew spotted the body and contacted the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
An autopsy performed Sunday in Fort Wayne determined Walker's death was a homicide caused by blunt-force trauma to the head.
Police believe Walker was riding on a train before he died and they think his body was placed along the tracks after his death.
"We don't feel that where the body was found is where (Walker) was killed," said Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine. "We believe he was killed somewhere between Cleveland and here."
Walker's destination and the people he was traveling with at the time of his death are not known.
The incident remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
