Staff Report-
There will be a pork burger sale Saturday to raise money for the Civil Air Patrol in Warsaw.
The Civil Air Patrol is an all-volunteer civilian unit for the U.S. Air Force.
They work with the federal, state and local emergency management agencies on disaster relief.
According to Civil Air Patrol Capt. David Poage, they also do 90 percent of all inland search and rescue in the United States.
The pork burger sale, which also will include a bake sale, a lunch offer and the chance to buy pork burgers in bulk, will run from 11 a.m. until sold out at the Warsaw American Legion Post.
The sale is to raise funds for general squadron activities.
Specifically, Cadet Master Sgt. Christopher J. Pyle has been chosen to represent the state at the National Honor Guard competition in Maryland. This is Pyle's second year he's been chosen.
Cadet Technical Sgt. Antonio Mantey will attend powered flight academy in Illinois where he will begin to learn to fly small aircraft solo.
Poage said the main focus of the Civil Air Patrol is on aerospace education and academics.
