City Council Approves Annexation Ordinance On Second Reading

Posted
Warsaw City Council Tuesday approved on second reading a voluntary annexation ordinance for residential development.
Petitioners Mary and James Mitchell, Richard and Sharon Jaynes, Timothy Zentz and Jeff and Anna Beeler requested 44 acres on CR 225E to be annexed into the city.
The property is currently located within Kosciusko County and has an agricultural zoning designation.
In order to match the county’s zoning designation, Warsaw will designate the property’s zoning classification as residential and allow for residential single family homes.
It will be recorded and take effect Feb. 21.
A public hearing on the annexation was held during the Jan. 13 city council meeting.
Also Tuesday, council approved conflict of interest disclosure statements for Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer and Cindy Dobbins, council member, and Warsaw Fire Department employees Mike Brubaker, Rob Barker, Ed Kipker, Victor Parrett, Aaron Bolinger and Brent Fifer.
In other business, Jeff Grose, Deer Task Force chair, informed the council there is one more week left on the city’s deer reduction efforts. There have been 50 deer taken so far.
