The kick-off of Christmas lights in Central Park will be Dec. 2, and the lights will remain on nightly from 4 p.m. to midnight until Dec. 31.
There will be approximately 200,000 Christmas lights in the park, Larry Plummer, Warsaw parks director, said during Tuesday’s park board meeting.
There also will be carolers in the park Dec. 2.
The parks office, Center Lake Pavilion, and Salvation Army light in the park will be lit before the Thanksgiving holiday.
New to this year, made possible through donations from Grossnickle Eye Center and IU Health Goshen Hospital, is a new LED 3D Christmas tree located by the plaza fountain in Central Park.
Young Tigers Football again will have its concession stand in the southwest corner of the Indiana Street parking lot.
The concession stand will be open from 5 to 10 p.m. beginning Dec. 2. It will be open until Dec. 31. The concession stand will be closed on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
The concession stand will include popcorn, warm cookies and hot chocolate. Proceeds from the sale will go toward purchasing Christmas lights for the park for next year.
Also new this year are rope Christmas lights that are on Center Lake Pavilion and the restrooms in Central Park.
There were 12 more LED snowflakes on the light poles added, so now every light pole with a plug will have a snowflake on it.
