Tickets will be sold and carriages will load at the Indiana Street parking lot along the west side of Central Park on Dec. 4 and 18.

Carriage ride tickets for Dec. 11 will be sold at Center Lake Pavilion, 119 E. Canal St., Warsaw, at the Christmas Countdown event.

The parks department is planning the Christmas Countdown event Dec. 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be opportunities for pictures with Santa, crafts, snacks, hot beverages and music. The first 200 children to attend the event will receive a goody bag.

The Christmas display in Central Park will kick off Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. The lights will be on display from 4 to midnight each night until Jan. 1.

"We at the parks department hope the public will come out and enjoy this free event and wish everyone a Merry Christmas," said Larry Plummer, Warsaw Parks Department director.

There will be 120,000 lights on display in Central Park with numerous figurines and a manger scene.

Warsaw Parks Department employees have added eight new light-emitting diode snowflake lights to this year's scene in Central Park.

The lights were purchased from funds raised during last year's concession proceeds and will be placed in the center of the park on light poles.

A concession stand will be run by Young Tiger Football League volunteers.

The stand will be open Dec. 4 to Dec. 30 from 5 to 10 p.m. The concession stand will be closed Dec. 25.

The concession stand will be in the west parking lot of Central Park. Volunteers will sell hot chocolate, coffee and popcorn for 75 cents each. Proceeds from the concession stand will go toward next year's Christmas display.
