SYRACUSE - Chautauqua-Wawasee recently was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
Chautauqua-Wawasee develops and sponsors programs in support of the Syracuse-Wawasee community.
“Our goal is to provide life-enriching experiences that help to make Syracuse and the region a great place to visit, live, work and raise a family,” said Mark Knecht, the organization’s president. “The Kosciusko County Community Foundation gift enables us to offer most of our programs free to attend, providing significant support in helping us toward our goal.”
This grant supports 11 programs: annual Wawasee Oakwood Fine Arts Festival, Taps Across the Water at Dusk, Pawasee Dog Parade, Famous Hoosier program featuring Ralph Teetor (July 28), Digging Through History series, Pour Paint Workshop (July 28 & 29), Potawatomi and Miami Settler History, Mosaic Stained Glass Workshops (Sept 17, 24 & Oct 1), Syracuse Ghost Tour, Old Fashioned Christmas and the Patriotic Speaker program featuring John Adams on July 5.
Chautauqua programs are open to the public to attend; some require online registration to help plan attendance. See the Chautauqua website for more information and details.
