Official charges will likely be filed today against 27-year-old Randall Lee Pryor of Goshen when he appears in court for an initial hearing.
Pryor was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Friday afternoon after reportedly holding police officers at bay for about 20 minutes. The incident began when Pryor allegedly caused problems at Time Out Inn on Lake Street in Warsaw about 3 p.m. Pryor was asked to leave the bar and, once outside, allegedly showed a knife that was in a sheath under his shirt.
After leaving, Pryor apparently ran off the road on Fox Farm Road, south of CR 200N, and then allegedly pointed a gun at Indiana State Police Trooper Brooks Johnson when Johnson encountered Pryor's pickup and recognized it from a description given after the Time Out incident.
County and city police responded to assist Johnson when he called for backup.
Pryor was preliminarily charged Friday with criminal recklessness with firearm, resisting law enforcement, manufacturing a bomb, possession of a bomb, driving while intoxicated and pointing a firearm.
After Pryor was taken into custody, it was learned that the gun he pointed at Johnson was not loaded, although it did have a magazine in place. Also, a search of Pryor's truck turned up two rifles, several rounds of ammunition and a black-powder bomb.
Police said Pryor was reportedly distraught about his wife leaving him. His wife, Leslie Pryor, was named on Pryor's booking sheet as the person to contact in case of emergency.
